UPSET ALERT!!!!! Hamtramck knocks off top-ranked River Rouge

River Rouge (@RiverRougeBB) is one of the best teams in Michigan. Led by Legend Geeter (Providence commit) they are extremely tough to beat at home. In the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, they haven't lost a home game since 2016 to Allen Academy.

Well, that stat was changed when the Hamtramck Cosmos (@HHSCosmos) came in and defeated the Panthers, 62-56. Hamtramck had the lead for the majority of the game with their pressure defense and shot making. Rouge would eventually make the game interesting late but it fell short in the end.

The Cosmos are led by Javier Whittaker (@Javier0W), a Senior guard who is averaging close to 28 points per game including a 40 point performance against Catholic Central. On this night, he would led the game with 16 points. Other top players include: Amari Allen (@maridagoat11) who is one of the top sophomore guards in the State. Amari Allen is long, lanky, can score and distribute. He kind of reminds you of Keith Appling as a sophomore.

Be on the lookout for Hamtramck as they take on Orchard Lake St. Mary's at 7pm on Tuesday 2/23.
