RTM | Weekly Round-up Vol. 1

Top headlines from Boys and Girls High School Basketball in Michigan Week #1.

Pierre Brooks II HOT Start!!!

The Mr. Basketball candidate hasn't missed a beat to start the season! Pierre (@nba_pbj) has led the 3-0 Frederick Douglass Hurricanes (@FREDD_HOOPSQUAD) in scoring each game. Scoring 32 points and grabbing 10 rebounds at East English to start the season, adding another 40 point performance against Detroit Osborn and also dropping 29 on a tough Benton Harbor team too. Brooks has to be the front-runner for the Mr. Basketball award. Not too many HS players dropping 101 points in their1st three games of the season!! We wouldn't be surprised when (not if) Brooks drops 50 this season. The Michigan State commit is ready!

The Lady Lakers were led by the Davis twins, Summer and Indya (both mentioned in our Class 2024 watch-list) with 43 points combined. Look for the Lakers to be contenders in the OAA this season and a deep playoff run.

Mak Manciel (SH Stevenson) & Linden Holder (Warren DLS) GO OFF!!!

If you didn't already know about these two guards then you might want to check out our Unsigned Hype report.

Both guards are uncommitted and should be at the TOP of your recruiting boards.

* Mak Manciel (@MancielMak)* hasn't played since his Sophomore year after transferring from Detroit Country Day. He started off with a 22 point, 8 rebound and 4 assist performance in a 79-57 win over L'Anse Creuse. After that, he posted 29 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Warren Mott, 80-52. His recruiting is starting to pick up and wouldn't be surprised if he picks up a GLIAC offer really soon with other Mid-Majors to follow.

*Linden Holder (@LindenJHolder)* has been very impressive for the Warren De La Salle Pilots and newly hired coach Gjon Gjokaj. In their home opener versus West Bloomfield, Holder was very good getting to the rim and making tough shots. The turning heads moment came against Brother Rice. Holder posted 26 points versus one of the top teams in Michigan, in a 59-42 win. He was shifty, made shots with contact at the basket and very hard to guard off the bounce. Currently, he has offers from Rochester College and Michigan-Dearborn. He is a NO-BRAINER GLIAC recruit with most of the league waiting on GV and Ferris to offer. Expect D2 offers to roll in soon for this shifty point guard.

Morasha Wiggins in back and better than ever!

The North Carolina Commit, @morashawiggins saw her Junior season cut short due to an ACL injury. After rehab and intense conditioning/workouts, she looks just as good as anyone in Michigan. Ranked #18 in the ESPN Girls Top 100, she came back to start the season with a chip on her shoulder. In her 1st game versus Gull Lake, she led the Lady Giants to a 61-31 win and posted 26 points, 6 assist and 5 steals. Look for her to make a big run for Miss Basketball and a chance at a State Championship!

Upcoming Schedule

2/16 - @Portage Central - 7pm

2/19 - @Battle Creek Central - 5:45pm

2/26 - Kalamazoo Loy Norrix (Home) - 5:45pm
