RTM | Top MHSAA Quarter-Final Match-Ups (Boys)

These three MHSAA Boy's Basketball Quarterfinal Match-Ups will have some of the Top teams in the state facing off this week on Monday April 5th & 6th. .

Ann Arbor Huron (18-0) vs. River Rouge (11-3)

7pm @ Ypsilanti Lincoln

This will be the River Rats toughest game all season. With a senior laden team with experience, Ann Arbor Huron is looking to do what Detroit Western did in 2015 and go undefeated for the State title!! Led by Julian Lewis (William & Mary Commit), Devin Womack, Kingsley Perkins and Tyson Edmondson (Lake Superior State Commits - All 3), the River Rats have a ton a talent all playing at a high level. River Rouge is led by Legend Geeter (Mr. Basketball Candidate & Providence commit) who gives this team toughness both inside & out. We also support Coach Stone and do not think he should have been let go prior to the State Playoffs starting. River Rouge daytime drama season ends here. RTM Pick: Ann Arbor Huron

Grand Blanc (12-2) vs. Orchard Lake St. Mary's (14-0) 7pm @ Davison HS

Grand Blanc has one of the best Juniors in the State. Ty Rodgers has had an outstanding season for the Bobcats and has shown why he has over a dozen NCAA Division I offers. The early season match-up between these two teams saw OLSM win 69-55 and Rodgers was held to 17. Julian Roper had the best of that match-up with 29 points in the win. This game will come down between the winner of the Rodgers/Roper math-up. If Roper can get the best of Grand Blanc again, expect the same result. Look out for RJ Taylor for Grand Blanc and Will Smythe to have big impacts on the game with their shooting. Grand Blanc's time is next season, this one goes to the Eaglets. RTM Pick: Orchard Lake St. Mary's

Frederick Douglass (14-5) vs. Southfield Christian (14-1)

6pm @ West Bloomfield

Mr. Basketball Candidate Pierre Brooks II (Michigan State commit) has put up HUGE numbers all season long. In the Regional Final he dropped 46 points in a win over Allen Park Inner-City Baptist. Southfield Christian is a scrappy all-out team that is led by 6'3 wing Malcolm King and 5'10 guard Verian Patrick. If SC can somehow keep Brooks from scoring 30, their shooting should prevail over Fred D's zone. Expect a shootout but Brooks is eager to play at the Breslin before graduation. RTM Pick: Frederick Douglass
