Mitten Recruit Christmas Classic Players Preview

Updated: Apr 12, 2022

Our Christmas Classic on Sunday December 19th features six teams from across the state and some top talent too!! In this preview we will highlight a few players that college coaches and fans need to know about before the event. We look forward to seeing you all come watch these great players and teams!

Xander Wedlow - 6'8 - '24 - C

Detroit University Prep | @just_wedlow

We have mentioned Xander before on our 2024 watch-list and he does NOT disappoint!! Much improved skill outside the basket and is a FORCE in the paint!! Xander reminds us of Trevion Williams (Purdue/Henry Ford Academy) with his inside/out game. You can tell the work in the off-season put in with Reggie Butler, the Big Man Guru here in Michigan, has done wonders to his game! Expect offers and interest to start rolling in for one of the Top Big Men in the state!

Mitchel Seay - 6'6 - '23 - F

West Bloomfield | @mitchseay11

Newly hired Boy's Basketball coach at West Bloomfield, Arnette Jordan, raves about Mitchel and his upside! He's long, active on both ends of the floor and can be a tough match-up because of his athleticism. He's getting interest from multiple D1 & D2 programs and will be a key player for the West Bloomfield Lakers this season!

Damaryon Fishburn - 6'5 - '23 - G

Trillium Academy | @dthegoatt2

Trillium Academy has a gem of a player in Fishburn! This lanky guard to able to make shots from all over the floor. Usually being a lefty guard works to your advantage and that definitely helps in this case. Recently scored 31 points on Parkway Christian. Damaryon has big-time potential shooting the ball and will be a main asset to Trillium's success this year.

Ryan Kiesling - 6'4 - '23 - F

Mattawan | @ryan_kiesling

Mattawan brings a team to our tournament for 171 miles away and they are bringing a good crew too!! Ryan is leading the team in points scored and rebounds as well at 13 and 8 this season. He brings some experience to a team that was Senior laden last year but has some good young talent now. Ryan can finish around the rim and is strong defensively as well.

Jahi Gibson - 6'2 - '22 - G

Frederick Douglass Academy | @SznHi

Coaches love those kinda guys that are tough, gritty and willing to do the dirty work for their team. Jahi is a perfect example of that. He's the guard from Detroit not afraid to dive on the floor or guard the other team's best player. His aggressive play bolds well on both sides of the ball. If you need a Detroit guard who can check and make plays, he is your guy!
